Donald's extensive background and experience in conceptualising, designing, driving technical delivery, as well as providing architectural oversight of delivery conformance to design specifications of highly complex and mission critical solutions provides significant technical strength to our leadership team.

In his various roles at IBM Consulting, Datacom Systems, Spark and Axon Computer Systems (rebranded to Dimension Data and then NTT) over the last 23 years, he has either initiated, designed, led delivery of, and/or held governance roles over the delivery of several centrally delivered sector wide solutions and platforms within Local Government, Regional Government Initiatives and Central Government Programmes.

These solutions and platforms of national significance have all provided thought-leading, modern, secure, scalable, pragmatic, and flexible approaches to addressing very complex business and technological problems.

These range from:

• Delivering a Current State Assessment and Future State Architecture and Products Strategy, and a strategy and implementation roadmap for an updated Target Operating Model and Technology Governance Model for NZ Police, to enable and drive their “Data Led Policing” strategy.
• Delivering the Infrastructure Architecture Design and Governance Lead role of behalf of Datacom, working with Health Benefits Ltd and subsequently Health Partnerships Ltd in defining, designing, and delivering a cloud based, centralised solution platform to consolidate the Finance, Procurement and Supply Chain processes for all non-clinical items for all the 20 DHB’s (at the time). This included the design and implementation of a solution-wide security model that was compliant with the extremely extensive, comprehensive, and complex GCSB defined, and cabinet mandated NZISM (New Zealand Information Security Manual).
• Working as part of the Datacom design and governance team in the development and implementation of Datacom’s “All of Government” Cloud Solution, which enabled Datacom to be one of three organisations on the panel authorised to deliver “All of Government” Cloud services.

This background integrates a “Leverage Modern Technology to Deliver Business Advantage” perspective into our approach, allowing us to leverage modern tools and analytics in enhancing destination management strategies, thus making them more adaptive and forward-looking.
